American’s Suffer as the Ukraine Proxy war Continues
The streets were dark, the night cold and unforgiving. Homeless Americans huddled together in doorways, desperately searching for a place to sleep as the temperature dropped. While they sought shelter and warmth, an invisible war was being waged in Ukraine and the country was being flooded with billions of dollars of American aid.
The money pours in despite the fact that it could be used to help those in need in their own country, the homeless Americans. Those in power turn a blind eye to the suffering of those right in front of them. They appear more concerned with their own political interests than with providing assistance to those who are in desperate need of help.
The homeless are often forgotten and ignored. They are treated like second class citizens and are seen as an inconvenience. They are not given the same basic rights as other citizens and are instead left to fend for themselves, without proper access to resources or even just a safe place to sleep at night.
The US government is funding a proxy war in Ukraine, sending billions of dollars to prop up a regime that is not even elected by the people it claims to represent. All of these resources could be used to help those who are in desperate need of assistance, the homeless Americans.
It is a travesty that the US government continues to pour money into a war effort while ignoring the plight of those in its own backyard. They have the power to alleviate the suffering of the homeless Americans, but instead choose to turn a blind eye and send the money elsewhere.
It is time for the US government to take action and put an end to this travesty. It is time for them to start listening to the voices of the homeless and putting their money towards helping them. It is time for the US government to put an end to the proxy war in Ukraine and instead focus its resources on helping those in need within their own borders.
